In addition to composing music for Film and TV, Linda also has a solo CD, “Love is a Curious Thing”, featuring the hit “Love Is…”, which reached top 5 on KCRW’s most requested list. (Available at CD Baby and iTunes.) Her electronica-influenced songs, compositions and music production have been heard in many TV shows and films, including Entourage, True Blood, Gossip Girl, and in the Sundance Award-winning film, American Teen.
Current projects include co-producing and writing a new EP, “Aquamarine” for her band The Twigs. Linda and Laura are also writing an original musical, “LadyShip”, inspired by the true story of the first ship of women convicts sent to Australia from England in 1789.
Linda recently produced the debut album from Cailyx, Girls Cry Wine. She is also the producer for the new album by Quazar and The Bamboozled (aka Brandon Jay, composer for the hit show Orange is the New Black) and vocal producer for an album by jazz singer Jenniphyre Zias. She is also a frequent composing/producing collaborator with Joey Peters (Grant Lee Buffalo) and James Combs (The Plush Interiors) for music soundtracks and commercials.
After an early childhood living in Mexico City, she grew up in Chicago, and taught herself piano and singing by playing songs from an old jazz fake book she found in a piano bench, and listening to her mother’s Sergio Mendes records. She attended the Academy for the Performing Arts High School, and attended college in the UK, where she learned her first recording chops at the BBC Studios. A move back to Chicago lead to her first two CDs with The Twigs being co-produced with Grammy-nominated Producer Johnny K at Groovemaster Studios. She was also a comedy improv-pianist for Second City.
Her solo songs often mix acoustic elements with electronic and organic beats. A multi-instrumentalist, she plays piano, keys, vocals, guitar, ukulele, bass and percussion. She is now based out of Los Angeles.
